This is artist Artist Max Elliott’s second book with Summerthought. Her first book, Canadian Rockies ABC, continues to sell well throughout the region and is currently on its 8th printing with over 40,000 copies sold, so we decided to work with her on this new book. For 50 years Summerthought has published books mostly about the Canadian Rockies and more recently about Alberta, but this is our first foray into a Canada-wide title. With pre-orders for almost 1,000 copies from across the country and Max’s energic marketing, we’re confident in the success of this book also.

About the Illustrator
Max Elliott has called the Canadian Rockies home since 1980. She grew up on the southern prairies and in the northern boreal forest of Saskatchewan, and work and school have taken her to live on the west and east coasts of Canada. A love of walking in and observing nature has informed Max’s creations for decades. Following the award-winning success of Canadian Rockies ABC, Max now celebrates the variety of Canada’s wild animals in her second book.
